This new two-way active monitor contains its own dedicated internal amplifier designed to precisely match the two high-specification drive units. This solution has major sonic, space and economic advantages over conventional systems of similar quality. The drive units compromise a 1" fabric dome tweeter with a powerful Neodymium magnet and 6.5" ATC soft-dome bass-mid driver with 45mm voice coil formed with flat ribbon wire. The on board amplification provides a total of 250 watts of continuous power to meet the demands of modern digital formats and film effects.
The T16 active is a new generation product using a curved and heavily damped aluminium casting with an 18mm thick ergonomic baffle. A contrasting sapphire indicator at the front shows the power on status. In mulit-channel systems the T16 becomes part of ATC's Concept 4 system, with matching sub-woofer and centre channel. To optimise both its multi-channel and stereo performance the T16 has full user-configurable dynamics via the rear panel controls.
